Tour Itinerary

The tour will start with a three-night guided an option in Singapore which we have often used as a stopping off point on our journeys to the Antipodes where there is much to do to enjoy this vibrant city. Our Australian tour starts in the northern city of Darwin where we will have time to explore and visit both of the world-famous National Parks located to the east and west of Darwin. We then board the Ghan in premier accommodation continuing overnight to Alice Springs where we will disembark in order to take a coach to our luxury hotel at Ayers Rock. Here we will have two days to explore, including an aboriginal lead guided tour around the base of the rock, a gourmet meal watching the sunset over Ayers Rock and an astronomical demonstration in the clear night sky an evening which is a highly memorable experience. There is also time to relax and enjoy our luxury hotel in the middle of the Australian outback.

We will then continue by coach to Kings Canyon famous for its early morning sunrise trek, here we will stay in luxury tented accommodation and enjoy a cookout in the evening before an early rise to take this memorable walk. After this, we will return to Alice Springs where there will be time to look at the various outback operations such as the flying Doctor before reboarding the Ghan to train to head south overnight to the southern coastal port of Adelaide. Here we will have several days to enjoy all that the city offers including perhaps the best transport museum in the country. We also hope there will be an opportunity to visit Kangaroo island just off the coast from Adelaide.

From Adelaide we intend to travel by train overland to Melbourne this is a delightful train journey. Melbourne offers many opportunities and a highlight will include a day on the Puffing Billy preserved railway including a gourmet lunch. There is normally an opportunity to visit the engine shed facilities for those interested. We will spend a day visiting vineries and there will be time to explore the city itself. We plan to continue by train to Canberra the Federal capital of Australia often overlooked by visiting tourists, there are memorable museums and in particular, the War Memorial Museum is of world-class standard. From Canberra, we will continue by train to Sydney where we have several days to relax and enjoy all that this fabulous city has to offer the including time for personal exploration. We are planning to make a one day visit to the Blue Mountains National Park. The main tour concludes here but there will be an option to carry on to Brisbane and take the coastal train up to Cairns for a few relaxing days with the famous barrier reef just a short boat ride from the city.
